I TRY LOTS OF NEW CROPS every year. Lots of new tomato and pepper varieties, and lots of new lettuce varieties—and always a few new different types of carrots.
This year, I grew Black Nebula carrot, and it was AMAZING…the darkest carrot, and probably vegetable, I have EVER seen!
The outside of the carrot is a deep purple, almost black, while the core is white.
It’s spectacular on a veggie tray! Dad added it to a soup and it turned the whole soup purple, including the broccoli stems and the chicken! (The purple chicken took some getting used to.)
Apparently it also turns bright pink when lemon is added—my next science experiment.
This is a carrot I highly recommend growing, just for the surprise when you pull it out of the ground and cut it open.
