I teach gardening. I share my love of growing and I tell the stories of other gardeners.

Me and Gardening

I started gardening when I was little, helping my dad in his garden. I always loved things like wheelbarrow rides, but then I started to want my own space. One year I grew 69 varieties of tomatoes. One year I had 21 types of mint. One year I had a three-pound tomato! This year I had over 120 varieties of tomatoes…on a city lot, here in Toronto. (I garden on the roof too!). You can read more about the fun I have in my garden on my blog.

Last year I had a big neighbourhood plant sale in the spring, and over the summer sold vegetable baskets to neighbours. I love it!

I am 13 years old. So it’s part-time!

My Mission

I want to help people, especially young people, see how fun gardening is.

I do this by communicating: I have two gardening books, I give gardening talks and workshops, and I co-host a gardening radio show and a video series.

Radio and Video

I am co-host of The Garage Gardeners Radio Show and the From Dirt to Dishes: Kids Grow and Cook video series.

Writing

My latest book, Gardening with Emma, is in stores now! Starting February 20, 2019, you can read my tomato blog for Harrowsmith magazine.

Talks

I speak at garden events. You can find my upcoming talks here.
